Highlight the “Disk utility” text that appears from the drop-down menu and click once on it to launch the Disk Utility program. Type “Disk utility” into the open column that appears next to the “Searchlight” icon. Go to the upper right hand corner of the Mac Pro and click on the “Searchlight” icon. This will let the PC be able to read and write to the internal hard drive in the same way it would any other internal hard drive installed into it. The procedure is similar to formatting the internal drive to work with the Mac Pro, only in this case the MS-DOS formatting option is used. Formatting an internal drive on the Mac so that it will work on a PC can be done using the Disk utility program that comes with the OS X operating system on the Mac. The Mac Pro desktop computer uses the same kind of internal hard drives as does a PC.
